Date: Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2008 Contact: City Clerk’s Office (505) 955-6520 Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2008, is the first day that a registered voter may cast a ballot in the 2008 Municipal Election by voting in person on a paper absentee ballot. Absentee voting will be held in the office of the City Clerk between the hours of 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. The voter will complete the ballot, place the ballot in an envelope and then place the envelope in the ballot box. An application for an absentee ballot may be obtained by the voter from the City Clerk. An application may be requested by the voter in person, by telephone or by mail, and any voter may request an application for an absentee ballot for an immediate family member. “Immediate family” means spouse, children, parents, brothers and sisters. The City has made parking spaces available for absentee voters on Lincoln Avenue. The spaces have hooded meters while they vote. Parking is also available for city business on Marcy Street. This will be strictly enforced by the city’s Parking Division. Other Important Municipal Election Dates: Wednesday, Feb. 13 is the first day that a registered voter may vote in person on a paper absentee ballot in the office of the City Clerk between the hours of 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Voters will insert their ballot into a M100 vote tabulator. Friday, Feb. 29 is the last day that a registered voter may vote in person in the office of the City Clerk. Absentee ballots must be received in the office of the City Clerk by 7 p.m. on March 4. The City of Santa Fe’s regular Municipal Election will be held on Tuesday, March 4.
